Description and Basic Information ::

Harrah’s Atlantic City was the first casino to open in the Marina District, away from the Boardwalk and Pacific Avenue Strip. The resort features three 16-story hotel towers and a multi-level complex housing a spacious gaming hall, numerous restaurants, a theater and meeting rooms, and recreational facilities.
To compensate for Harrah’s relatively secluded location away from the Boardwalk, the resort’s planners assembled a 20,000-square-foot wood planking on the bay side of the complex. Known as The Baywalk, the expansive planking overlooks Harrah’s 65-slip harbor and provides guests a panoramic view of the Absecon Waterway.
What with its marina location, a nautical theme is carried throughout the casino floor, beginning with custom carpeting in a tidal pool motif. The atmosphere is relaxing, as cold cathode lighting simulates the color and movement of the ocean. This simulation outlines the perimeter of the 82,966-square-foot casino floor.
The gaming hall offers a well-balanced mix of 2,721 slot machines and 82 table games (figures as of June 30,1999). More than 98 percent of Harrah’s slot machines have seating. Slot denominations vary from 25 cents to $100. Guests who frequent the high-limit slot area - Treasure Cove - will receive the royal treatment with “Super Tush,” slot chairs that adjust up or down and have vibrating seat backs. The Treasure Cove slots have a minimum denomination of $5, climbing up to $100. The Players Deck is the place for video poker fans, featuring 25-cent video poker games.
For Poker enthusiasts, Harrah's has an intimate eight-table Poker Room across from the Broadway By The Bay Theater. Other table games include 1 Baccarat table, 1 Casino War, 41 Blackjack, 5 Caribbean Stud Poker, 9 Craps, 1 Mini-Baccarat, 5 Let it Ride, 2 Pai Gow Poker, 8 Poker, and 9 Roulette tables. Non-smoking tables are also available from noon to 4pm daily in Pit 6.
Harrah’s hotel offers 1,174 guestrooms in three hotel towers, making it one of the largest hotels in the state of New Jersey. The resort’s new Marina Hotel Tower connects to the current complex via any floor, allowing guests to travel to the new rooms from the Atrium Tower (suites only), as well as from the Harbour Tower. Telephones in the Marina Tower are equipped to connect to personal computers. Each of the 416 rooms features a seating area as well as a seaside décor.
Harrah's is easily accessible from the Atlantic City Expressway via the new Atlantic City-Brigantine Connector, otherwise known as "the tunnel." Just bear right off the Expressway just before entering town. |
